The annual run/walk raises money for the Needy Family Fund, which is operated by the Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Catholic Parish and assists families in Glenview and the Chicago area.

The 5k will begin at 8 a.m. and starts and finishes on Washington Street next to the Jackman Park gazebo in Glenview, taking participants through the Swainwood neighborhood. Runners will be officially timed and will have the opportunity to receive awards, while walkers will not be timed. Post-race festivities will take place afterward at Jackman Park.

“We’re proud to support the OLPHun Run 5k and the Needy Family Fund,” said Jaime Passaglia, founder of Little Steps. “Our team is devoted to improving the lives of children and families in the Chicago area, and this is a great opportunity for us to help those in need.”

The OLPHun Run 5k is registered as a nonprofit organization. Last year, 685 people walked/ran the 5k course and raised more than $30,000 for the Needy Family Fund, which assists more than 200 families in the Chicago area annually (600 families use the food pantry).

Online registration is open for runners ($25) and walkers ($20) through 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, September 30. Both runners and walkers can register on race day for $30 starting at 6:30 a.m. To learn more and/or sign up for the 5k, visit the OLPHun Run website.
